Prepare Academy

Our Mission:

Prepare.

To prepare, not repair, our youth by equipping them mentally, emotionally & relationally through evidence-based practices.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help put an end to the cycle of trauma and to stop preventable mental illnesses from reoccurring generation after generation.

A word from our founder

Our Initiatives

Our initiatives focus on the mental, emotional, and relational health of youth. Our primary focus and service is to underserved and at-risk youth.

Juvenile Justice Reform

Restorative Justice is one of our initiatives that incorporates ‘evidence-based and trauma-informed practices and programs into plans for improving Texas’ juvenile justice systems’ according to the Juvenile Justice Reform Act of 2018.

YOuth Development

We are passionate about preparing well rounded youth so we not only provide mental health resources but we partner with other organizations that provide other resources such as 1-on-1 mentoring and professional development services such as financial literacy training to help combat the cycle of poverty.

Mental Health

We provide training and programing that focuses on increasing the emotional intelligence of youth and the leaders who work closely with them (i.e. parents, teachers, and organizations with a youth development focus)

Family Development

We have a systemic approach that encourages us to provide resources and programming that will undergird the entire family. We understand that when we help the parents we help the child and vice versa.

Our Current Juvenile Justice Reform initiative is based on this December 2018 bill

H.R. 6964, the “Juvenile Justice Reform Act of 2018,” authorizes appropriations through Fiscal Year 2023 for the Department of Justice to carry out provisions of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974 (JJDPA); modifies parameters of the formula grant program under the JJDPA to require States to incorporate evidence-based and trauma-informed practices and programs into plans for improving their juvenile justice systems; and modifies the incentive grant program for local and tribal delinquency prevention efforts
